LPI Certification Testing

The LPI program offers a comprehensive series of examinations with which to demonstrate competency in various aspects of the Linux operating system. The LPI program is vendor-neutral and covers versions of Linux from many different sources.

LPI Certification Testing Moving to Single Vendor

Effective July 1, 2012, LPI exams will be delivered exclusively with Pearson VUE. For more details about this change, please review the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) below.

Key Dates/Actions:

  • May 25, 2012 – Last day to purchase an exam voucher from Prometric
  • June 30, 2012 – Last day to register for an exam at a Prometric Test Center
  • June 30, 2012 – Last day to take an exam at a Prometric Test Center
  • July 3, 2012 – First day candidates are able to use a Prometric voucher with Pearson VUE

NOVELL and LPI partnership
Novell and LPI are pleased to announce that holders of LPIC certifications are now eligible to apply for and receive the Novell Certified Linux Administrator (CLA) certification at no additional cost or exams.

Registration

Before scheduling an appointment with Pearson VUE, you must first register with LPI and obtain an LPI ID. You will need this number to create an account.

Scheduling

Appointments may be made in advance or on the day you wish to test, subject to availability. Pearson VUE offers a variety of scheduling options:

  • Schedule Test Online
  • Schedule Test Over the Phone
  • Schedule Test through Local Test Center
